Welcome to the Hindu Student's Council at the University of California, Irvine
The Hindu Students Council is dedicated to discussing and propagating an interest in the Hindu Ethos. The Hindu Civilization has a history of thousands of years starting from the ancient Vedas of India. We are here not only to discover the glory of this past, but also to discover our own role growing up here in the Western World. Games, jeopardy quizzes and discussions on everything from how to deal with growing up as a Hindu, to Hinduism and media, to politics in India are included in our weekly meetings. We also have spiritual readings, garbas, meditation sessions, lectures, bonfires, and much more. Come out to our meetings and discover yourself!
The meetingsWe have meetings every Monday from 6pm to 7:30pm. The meetings on Monday are more educational/social in nature and is held at the Cross Cultural Center opposite the Cornerstone Cafe.
Occasionally on Fridays, we play a chosen sport or hold a social, typically at the ARC. Again, we urge you to check the mailing list for updates on the locations as they tend to vary depending on the chosen activity. |
